A Catastrophic Events of Typhoon Ondoy

On September 2009, Typhoon Ondoy brought a months worth of rainfall to Metro Manila and nearly areas in just a few hours, causing severe flooding which resulted in the less of many lives and the displacement of thousands of people.

I was really down upon seeing the extent of the aftermath of typhoon Ondoy in the news. Seeing those people suffer and stranded without homes or food made me feel despair. Even those without electricity and the effects it currently has on the quality of life.

Thinking about the devastation and who will be clearing that up. Maybe it will be a group effort, or maybe people will just be focused on helping themselves, explore that option if need be. Ondoy struck thousands of Filipinos belonging to different walks of life. It dawned upon everyone how nature is badly hurt from our own doing like disposal of garbage, deforestation, pollution from factories and vehicles and so on.

I realized that whatever we give to nature, nature will give it back to us. If we violate the laws of nature, we have to suffer the consequences and face the wrath of Mother Earth. I also realized that money and wealth cannot save you from a natural calamity. It chooses no one. It can hit even the richest person on earth. We are all stewards of God’s creation. God gave us dominion over everything that He has created. From this time, we have a great responsibility in taking care of whatever He created. Tragedy gives all of us a chance to act better and be better

I really feel pity with those people who have suffered a lot when that strong typhoon stroke. We can't blame anyone but only ourselves who became very irresponsible in caring our Mother Environment.

You had expressed your thoughts.. Nice write-up=)

It was so sad to hear people were suffering that time even those who are faultless, powerless, innocent children experienced such merciless wrath of nature. I was touched how all of us get united and lend a hand to those who are greatly in need that time. Though help reached those people, I was still so sad since the solution made was not permanent and I heard nothing more than that of relief goods being delivered. On my own opinion permanent solution and total prevention of that event should still be a very serious case the government and the society must not left behind and should be worked out before another disastrous typhoon would occur. Let us not start another blaming game but, let our attention make my simple opinion come into realization.

i really felt sad about what happened in our country especially in Luzon. i thank god so much because we were not included by the typhoon, but i still felt the sadness because i can't stand or i can't dare watching them die, watching them lose their families and homes.

there's only one thing i learned from the tragedy.

we really have to take good care of Mother Earth, it's for our own good. :)
